The entire dataset is available at 1-meter pixel resolution. This pixel resolution allows the user to identify features on the ground such as stock ponds, county and gravel roads, railroads and cropland. The entire dataset is available as a 4-band (RGBIR) product which allows the user to display the imagery in natural color (RGB) or color infrared (IRRG). Flight date is in each filename as YYYYMMDD, and each image tile covers one 4th of a USGS Digital Orthophoto Quad (DOQ) resulting in a DOQQ or approximately 16 square miles with minimum 300-meter buffers. NAIP imagery products are also available as 3-band (RGB) natural color compressed county mosaics (CCMs). CCMs are generated by compressing the DOQQ image tiles into a single mosaic per county. All individual tile images and the resulting mosaic are rectified in the UTM coordinate system, NAD 83, and cast into a single predetermined UTM zone.\r\n\r\nNAIP is administered by the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) through the Aerial Photography Field Office (APFO) in Salt Lake City. The program was established to support FSA's strategic goals centered on agricultural production. The orthoimagery are used as a base layer for GIS programs in FSA's County Service Centers including maintenance of the Common Land Unit (CLU) boundaries. However, there are many other potential uses and applications of NAIP data as a statewide base layer of imagery in Texas. NAIP imagery are used for a wide variety of purposes throughout the state including land use planning, natural resource assessment, energy production, transportation, emergency management, ecology, air quality monitoring, etc. \r\n\r\nNAIP acquisitions in Texas are contracted based on available funding and the FSA imagery acquisition cycle. Since 2008, NAIP statewide imagery have been acquired for Texas on a 2-year cycle. This refresh rate allows the user to conduct change detection studies that can be used to monitor climate patterns such as drought or to show the rate of manmade growth on the fringes of urban development.\r\n\r\nNotes: 1) Per FSA, full coverage along the TX/MX border is not available in some areas and some DOQQ tiles may contain black nodata areas along the TX/MX border. 2) A fifth band of null values was created during the conversion from the uncompressed GeoTIFFs to the compressed lossless JPEG2000s. The conversion was performed in ERDAS Imagine which does not exhibit the fifth band. The fifth band is however revealed in ArcGIS and should be ignored. 3) Aerial orthoimagery flown during leaf-on conditions can hinder the ability of the data user to identify manmade features through the deciduous tree canopy. Further, the distinction between evergreen and deciduous vegetation is very difficult using leaf-on imagery. \r\n\r\nOther growing seasons in the continental United States.","description":"This orthoimagery dataset was acquired by the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) during the 2008 agricultural growing season (April - October) during leaf-on conditions near statewide in Texas (excluding East Texas). The entire dataset is available at 1-meter pixel resolution. This pixel resolution allows the user to identify features on the ground such as stock ponds, county and gravel roads, railroads and cropland. The entire dataset is available as a 4-band (RGBIR) product which allows the user to display the imagery in natural color (RGB) or color infrared (IRRG). Flight date is in each seamline shapefile. NAIP imagery products are available as compressed county mosaics (CCMs). CCMs are generated by compressing the Digital Orthophoto Quarter-Quad (DOQQ) image tiles into a single mosaic per county. For this dataset, the matching DOQQ tiles are available in the 2008 TOP Imagery dataset. All individual tile images and the resulting mosaic are rectified in the UTM coordinate system, NAD 83, and cast into a single predetermined UTM zone.\r\n\r\nNAIP is administered by the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) through the Aerial Photography Field Office (APFO) in Salt Lake City. The program was established to support FSA's strategic goals centered on agricultural production. The orthoimagery are used as a base layer for GIS programs in FSA's County Service Centers including maintenance of the Common Land Unit (CLU) boundaries. However, there are many other potential uses and applications of NAIP data as a statewide base layer of imagery in Texas. NAIP imagery are used for a wide variety of purposes throughout the state including land use planning, natural resource assessment, energy production, transportation, emergency management, ecology, air quality monitoring, etc. \r\n\r\nNAIP acquisitions in Texas are contracted based on available funding and the FSA imagery acquisition cycle. Since 2008, NAIP statewide imagery have been acquired for Texas on a 2-year cycle. This refresh rate allows the user to conduct change detection studies that can be used to monitor climate patterns such as drought or to show the rate of manmade growth on the fringes of urban development.\r\n\r\nNote: Aerial orthoimagery flown during leaf-on conditions can hinder the ability of the data user to identify manmade features through the deciduous tree canopy. Further, the distinction between evergreen and deciduous vegetation is very difficult using leaf-on imagery. \r\n\r\nOther links:\r\nhttps://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/aerial-photography/imagery-programs/naip-imagery/\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https://portal.geographic.texas.gov/portal/apps/experiencebuilder/experience/?id=5423f31c5cf840abb1f4993581ca2903\" target=\"_blank\">National Agriculture Imagery Program 2004-2022 Interactive Map</a>","partners":"United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency","authoritative":true,"public":true,"known_issues":"1m product replaced with TOP 2008","wms_link":null,"s_three_key":"naip-2008-cir-1m","popup_link":null,"carto_map_id":"7cc5a468-deeb-11e4-8cd4-0e018d66dc29","coverage_extent":"Texas","tags":"Texas, Statewide, National Agricultural Imagery Program, NAIP, United States Department of Agriculture, USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service, NRCS, Natural Color, NC, Infrared, CIR, Mosaic, Orthoimagery, Aerial, Historical","category":"Imagery","spatial_reference":"26913,26914,26915","file_type":"JP2,TIFF","resolution":"1m","recommended_use":null,"resource_types":"NCCIR-CCM","data_types":"Raster","band_types":"NC,CIR","source_name":"United States Department of Agriculture","source_abbreviation":"USDA","source_website":"https://www.usda.gov/","source_data_website":"https://datagateway.nrcs.usda.gov/","source_contact":"usdanrcs@midatl.service-now.com","license_name":"Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal","license_abbreviation":"CC0-1.0","license_url":"https://spdx.org/licenses/CC0-1.0.html","template":"tnris-download","availability":"Download","counties":"Andrews, Aransas, Archer, Armstrong, Atascosa, Austin, Bailey, Bandera, Bastrop, Baylor, Bee, Bell, Bexar, Blanco, Borden, Bosque, Bowie, Brazoria, Brazos, Brewster, Briscoe, Brooks, Brown, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Calhoun, Callahan, Cameron, Carson, Castro, Chambers, Childress, Clay, Cochran, Coke, Coleman, Collin, Collingsworth, Colorado, Comal, Comanche, Concho, Cooke, Coryell, Cottle, Crane, Crockett, Crosby, Culberson, Dallam, Dallas, Dawson, Deaf Smith, Delta, Denton, DeWitt, Dickens, Dimmit, Donley, Duval, Eastland, Ector, Edwards, Ellis, El Paso, Erath, Falls, Fannin, Fayette, Fisher, Floyd, Foard, Fort Bend, Freestone, Frio, Gaines, Galveston, Garza, Gillespie, Glasscock, Goliad, Gonzales, Gray, Grayson, Guadalupe, Hale, Hall, Hamilton, Hansford, Hardeman, Hartley, Haskell, Hays, Hemphill, Hidalgo, Hill, Hockley, Hood, Hopkins, Howard, Hudspeth, Hunt, Hutchinson, Irion, Jack, Jackson, Jeff Davis, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Johnson, Jones, Karnes, Kendall, Kenedy, Kent, Kerr, Kimble, King, Kinney, Kleberg, Knox, Lamar, Lamb, Lampasas, La Salle, Lavaca, Lee, Liberty, Limestone, Lipscomb, Live Oak, Llano, Loving, Lubbock, Lynn, Martin, Mason, Matagorda, Maverick, McCulloch, McLennan, McMullen, Medina, Menard, Midland, Milam, Mills, Mitchell, Montague, Moore, Motley, Navarro, Nolan, Nueces, Ochiltree, Oldham, Palo Pinto, Parker, Parmer, Pecos, Potter, Presidio, Randall, Reagan, Real, Red River, Reeves, Refugio, Roberts, Robertson, Rockwall, Runnels, San Patricio, San Saba, Schleicher, Scurry, Shackelford, Sherman, Somervell, Starr, Stephens, Sterling, Stonewall, Sutton","oe_service_names":null,"oe_service_urls":null},{"collection_id":"d28415b0-e933-4395-a66b-7d983a63abec","thumbnail_image":"https://data.geographic.texas.gov/d28415b0-e933-4395-a66b-7d983a63abec/assets/0c899c25-1b97-4994-be4e-6d1e2ed1c7e8.jpg","images":"https://data.geographic.texas.gov/d28415b0-e933-4395-a66b-7d983a63abec/assets/0c899c25-1b97-4994-be4e-6d1e2ed1c7e8.jpg,https://data.geographic.texas.gov/d28415b0-e933-4395-a66b-7d983a63abec/assets/0cb20444-7645-467c-8975-ffc41800abce.jpg,https://data.geographic.texas.gov/d28415b0-e933-4395-a66b-7d983a63abec/assets/3ee8f345-6c1d-47e8-a0dc-edc83308d2c5.jpg","tile_index_url":"https://data.geographic.texas.gov/d28415b0-e933-4395-a66b-7d983a63abec/assets/texas-naip-imagery-tile-index.zip","supplemental_report_url":null,"lidar_breaklines_url":null,"lidar_buildings_url":null,"name":"Texas NAIP Imagery","acquisition_date":"2009-01-01","publication_date":"2019-04-01","short_description":"The National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) acquires aerial imagery during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental United States.","description":"This orthoimagery dataset was acquired by the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) during 2009 leaf-off conditions in East Texas. The Texas Forest Service, in cooperation with the City of Galveston, observed widespread mortality of trees due to the salty storm surge caused by Hurricane Ike in September 2008. The new post-storm imagery was used to compare with existing pre-storm, leaf-on imagery to calculate the total loss of tree canopy within the historic footprint of the city.\r\n\r\nFunding for this orthoimagery dataset was provided by two state entities. The entire dataset is available at 1-meter pixel resolution. This pixel resolution allows the user to identify features on the ground such as stock ponds, county and gravel roads, railroads and cropland. The entire dataset is available as a 4-band (RGBIR) product which allows the user to display the imagery in natural color (RGB) or color infrared (IRRG). Flight date is in each filename as YYYYMMDD, and each image tile covers one 4th of a USGS Digital Orthophoto Quad (DOQ) resulting in a DOQQ or approximately 16 square miles with minimum 300-meter buffers. NAIP imagery products are also available as 3-band (RGB) natural color compressed county mosaics (CCMs). CCMs are generated by compressing the DOQQ image tiles into a single mosaic per county. All individual tile images and the resulting mosaic are rectified in the UTM coordinate system, NAD 83, and cast into a single predetermined UTM zone.\r\n\r\nNAIP is administered by the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) through the Aerial Photography Field Office (APFO) in Salt Lake City. The fifth band is however revealed in ArcGIS and should be ignored.\r\n\r\nOther links:\r\nhttps://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/aerial-photography/imagery-programs/naip-imagery/\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https://portal.geographic.texas.gov/portal/apps/experiencebuilder/experience/?id=5423f31c5cf840abb1f4993581ca2903\" target=\"_blank\">National Agriculture Imagery Program 2004-2022 Interactive Map</a>","partners":"United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency","authoritative":false,"public":true,"known_issues":null,"wms_link":"https://imagery.geographic.texas.gov/server/services/NAIP/NAIP18_NCCIR_60cm/ImageServer/WMSServer","s_three_key":"naip-2018-2019-nccir-60cm","popup_link":"https://imagery.geographic.texas.gov/server/rest/services/NAIP/NAIP18_NCCIR_60cm/ImageServer?f=jsapi","carto_map_id":null,"coverage_extent":null,"tags":null,"category":"Imagery","spatial_reference":"26913,26914,26915","file_type":"JP2,TIFF","resolution":"60cm","recommended_use":null,"resource_types":"NCCIR-DOQQ","data_types":"Raster","band_types":"NC,CIR","source_name":"United States Department of Agriculture","source_abbreviation":"USDA","source_website":"https://www.usda.gov/","source_data_website":"https://datagateway.nrcs.usda.gov/","source_contact":"usdanrcs@midatl.service-now.com","license_name":"Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal","license_abbreviation":"CC0-1.0","license_url":"https://spdx.org/licenses/CC0-1.0.html","template":"tnris-download","availability":"Download","counties":"Anderson, Andrews, Angelina, Aransas, Archer, Armstrong, Atascosa, Austin, Bailey, Bandera, Bastrop, Baylor, Bee, Bell, Bexar, Blanco, Borden, Bosque, Bowie, Brazoria, Brazos, Brewster, Briscoe, Brooks, Brown, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Calhoun, Callahan, Cameron, Camp, Carson, Cass, Castro, Chambers, Cherokee, Childress, Clay, Cochran, Coke, Coleman, Collin, Collingsworth, Colorado, Comal, Comanche, Concho, Cooke, Coryell, Cottle, Crane, Crockett, Crosby, Culberson, Dallam, Dallas, Dawson, Deaf Smith, Delta, Denton, DeWitt, Dickens, Dimmit, Donley, Duval, Eastland, Ector, Edwards, Ellis, El Paso, Erath, Falls, Fannin, Fayette, Fisher, Floyd, Foard, Fort Bend, Franklin, Freestone, Frio, Gaines, Galveston, Garza, Gillespie, Glasscock, Goliad, Gonzales, Gray, Grayson, Gregg, Grimes, Guadalupe, Hale, Hall, Hamilton, Hansford, Hardeman, Hardin, Harris, Harrison, Hartley, Haskell, Hays, Hemphill, Henderson, Hidalgo, Hill, Hockley, Hood, Hopkins, Houston, Howard, Hudspeth, Hunt, Hutchinson, Irion, Jack, Jackson, Jasper, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Johnson, Jones, Karnes, Kaufman, Kendall, Kenedy, Kent, Kerr, Kimble, King, Kinney, Kleberg, Knox, Lamar, Lamb, Lampasas, La Salle, Lavaca, Lee, Leon, Liberty, Limestone, Lipscomb, Live Oak, Llano, Loving, Lubbock, Lynn, Madison, Marion, Martin, Mason, Matagorda, Maverick, McCulloch, McLennan, McMullen, Medina, Menard, Midland, Milam, Mills, Mitchell, Montague, Montgomery, Moore, Morris, Motley, Nacogdoches, Navarro, Newton, Nolan, Nueces, Ochiltree, Oldham, Orange, Palo Pinto, Panola, Parker, Parmer, Pecos, Polk, Potter, Presidio, Rains, Randall, Reagan, Real, Red River, Reeves, Refugio, Roberts, Robertson, Rockwall, Runnels, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, San Patricio, San Saba, Schleicher, Scurry, Shackelford, Shelby, Sherman, Smith, Somervell, Starr, Stephens, Sterling, Stonewall, Sutton, Swisher, Tarrant, Taylor, Terrell, Terry, Throckmorton, Titus, Tom Green, Travis, Trinity, Tyler, Upshur, Upton, Uvalde, Val Verde, Van Zandt, Victoria, Walker, Waller, Ward, Washington, Webb, Wharton, Wheeler, Wichita, Wilbarger, Willacy, Williamson, Wilson, Winkler, Wise, Wood, Yoakum, Young, Zapata, Zavala","oe_service_names":null,"oe_service_urls":null},{"collection_id":"f60f199e-055e-4c8e-954e-7bf11f493c24","thumbnail_image":"https://data.geographic.texas.gov/f60f199e-055e-4c8e-954e-7bf11f493c24/assets/8af9e98d-b89f-4a96-a798-9f263a8c640c.webp","images":"https://data.geographic.texas.gov/f60f199e-055e-4c8e-954e-7bf11f493c24/assets/8af9e98d-b89f-4a96-a798-9f263a8c640c.webp","tile_index_url":null,"supplemental_report_url":null,"lidar_breaklines_url":null,"lidar_buildings_url":null,"name":"Texas Building Footprints","acquisition_date":"2026-07-21","publication_date":"2026-07-21","short_description":null,"description":"This dataset is an initiative by the Texas Geographic Information Office (TxGIO) to generate a statewide 2D building footprint dataset derived from StratMap lidar collections. These data were developed using Class 6 (Buildings) lidar point data based on a horizontal projection/datum of WGS 1984 (ESPG 4326). The building footprints, for features 400 square feet and larger, are available as a feature class within an ESRI geodatabase and as a feature service.\r\n\r\nFeature classes include HAG and LAG (highest and lowest adjacent grade), AverageZ (average grade), HRE (highest roof elevation), BuildingHeight (in feet), CollName (stratmap lidar collection name footprints were derived from), HUC8_Code, HUC8_Name, SourceYear (lidar collection year), SourceType (lidar, imagery, etc.), County. Also included are the fields Slope_HL (the slope from the HAG point to the LAG point, where Slope_HL = (HZ-LZ)/distance_H2L), ChkPolyV (the confidence level on the HAG/LAG value, reported by % value, where ChkPolyV = (count_valid*100)/totalCount); e.g., 96.5 = 96.5% confidence and 1 = full confidence). QA/QC processing occurred to meet the following accuracy requirement: Horizontal accuracy up to +/- 1m. Omission/commission errors will exist, and rooftop outlines may appear generalized or incomplete in certain areas where vegetation or other artifacts are present in the data.\r\n\r\nThis is an ongoing effort that will be continuously updated.","partners":"","authoritative":false,"public":true,"known_issues":null,"wms_link":"https://feature.geographic.texas.gov/arcgis/services/Buidlings/TxGIO_Building_Footprints/MapServer/WMSServer","s_three_key":"stratmap-2026-building-footprints","popup_link":null,"carto_map_id":null,"coverage_extent":null,"tags":null,"category":"Basemap","spatial_reference":"4326","file_type":"GDB","resolution":null,"recommended_use":null,"resource_types":"BLG","data_types":null,"band_types":null,"source_name":"Strategic Mapping Program","source_abbreviation":"StratMap","source_website":"https://geographic.texas.gov/","source_data_website":"https://data.geographic.texas.gov/","source_contact":"https://geographic.texas.gov/contact","license_name":"Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal","license_abbreviation":"CC0-1.0","license_url":"https://spdx.org/licenses/CC0-1.0.html","template":"tnris-download","availability":"Download","counties":null,"oe_service_names":null,"oe_service_urls":null}]}
